App School
This is a training course for iPhone or iPad application development, or 'app' development, in Dublin, Belfast and London which teaches developers everything they need to develop their own iPhone applications—from writing their first lines of Objective-C to publishing their app in the iTunes App Store. The five days training includes intensive hands-on tuition, allowing attendees to practise what they learn as they learn it. This course, called App School, is designed by Ireland's leading iPhone developers, and also covers the non-obvious tricks of the trade, like how to maximise sales and distribution.

Why App School?
You may have heard the phrase ‘...there’s an app for that!’. With 85,000 native applications and 2 billion downloads already...the iPhone is the most interesting development platform since the advent of the internet. Combined with the iTunes App Store, developers can easily write and sell applications for the world’s most innovative mobile device. Apple hosts and sells the Apps, so developers can concentrate on creating exciting applications without worrying about distribution costs or accounting.
Who should do this course?
Anyone interested in developing iPhone Apps, either for business, education, or personal use, or looking to get work as an iPhone Application developer . It's an exciting opportunity to develop Apps as an income stream for budding entrepreneurs. Academics may wish to include iPhone App development in their teaching.
About the course:
App School is taught over five consecutive days, beginning with an introduction to the iPhone SDK (Software Development Kit) and finishing with optimising profit made from App sales.
Course Requirements:
App School is designed for anyone with some programming experience. Anyone with a good understanding of object-oriented languages, such as C++, Java or C# will be able to participate fully.
Objective-C is not required and will be covered in the course.
All attendees will require an iPhone OS-based device (an iPhone or iPod touch is recommended), but the “iPhone Simulator” (included with the iPhone SDK) can be used if a device is not available. Note that not all hardware features are available in the simulator.
The software required (iPhone SDK 3.0) is available from Apple to all registered iPhone developers, but will be provided for you for the duration of the course. (Details on setting up the SDK will be covered during the course, but registration is all that is required and payment processing and approval by Apple takes a few days. Note that Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is required to install the iPhone SDK.)
