Comparing Final Cut Pro 200 with FCP 101…
July 20th, 2010As we are now proudly offering the 5 day Final Cut Pro 200 Apple Certification course – FCP 200 – A Comprehensive Study, We thought it would be useful to compare the differences between the two courses which reach the same Apple Certification. So how does this compare to the FCP 101 – Introduction to Final Cut Pro - 3 day course?
The 5 day FCP 200 course is essentially the same amount of training and content but delivered over a 5 day period, with more opportunity to absorb the techniques and knowledge as you go through the course. This opens the course up to a much wider audience and enables students at the beginner level.
After the 5 days trainees take the FCP Apple Pro Level 1 exam. The FCP 200 course still requires an interest in video editing and the associated concepts, but gives students more time for discussion, question and answer, and hands-on practice labs.
Our Final Cut Trainers are always keen to pass on their experience and tips from working in industry, and with the 5 day FCP 200 course there is more time to pass on these valuable nuggets of information which can be crucial.
Our Final Cut Studio Master trainer Keith says“…the FCP200 (5 day) and FCP101 (3 day) syllabuses are exactly the same however the FCP 200 course is delivered in a way more suitable for those new to Final Cut Pro. The students have more time to ‘develop’ their skills in editing with Final Cut Pro, and familiarise themselves with the more professional editing tools and techniques available than you would perhaps find in iMovie or Final Cut Express . The FCP 101 – 3 day course however demands a good foundation of editing experience in Final Cut Pro to begin with, so suits those who are in industry, or have at least 1 year’s experience using the software already. ”
“…It also depends on how students prefer to learn and assimilate knowledge – the 3 day is more intense in the delivery and preparation time for the students, the 5 day affords more time for discussion of the theory and practice of editing. Becoming accomplished in editing with Final Cut Pro requires a solid foundation, and for those starting off – the FCP 200 delivers this very well.”

iPad emotion (‘i’motion)
January 26th, 2011I thought I would write a little about the i-product range from Apple inc. in particular the iPad, especially as we aren’t far away from seeing the iPad2 reach our shelves, or should i say our sticky little paws! A feature of these products which is not often written about, possibly because it is intangible, subjective, and perhaps should be ‘a given’ based on Apple design principles, is the emotional factor that is tied to Apple products…
